Lapp joint boomerangs as the name implies has each wing lapped onto the elbow portion. One half of the thickness of each wing is removed and half the thickness of the elbow is removed where each is to be joined. If you look closely at the one design (mahogany and dark tulip) you can see the line mark where the left wing joins onto the right wing. This method does produce very attractive boomerangs but are not as durable as the strip laminated or aircraft grade plywood models.
Slide Show Photos at right show the Ortho-Rang designs generally made from 6mm aircraft grade plywood constructed using the lapp joint method. The wings are made from laminated Paudak and Ash and the elbow portion is lapped onto each wing with a solid piece of walnut.
